Dr. Terri Davis

Dr. Davis joined the DCAH team in May 1993 after leaving Harrisonburg. She decided to stay when Dr. Mayo and Dr. Levinstein took over the practice because she likes the quality of care she is able to offer clients and patients. She is a 1992 graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Her interests are in surgery, internal medicine, and preventative care. Dr. Davis is our main surgeon at the DCAH location. So if your animal ever comes to DCAH to have surgery, Dr. Davis will be the one who will be taking care of your animal. She takes great pride in her work and her main focus is always on the well-being of the animal that she is working on. She is continuing her education and growth in her individual interest areas so that she will be able to continue to give the quality of care that she enjoys.

Dr. Davis is married and owns 1 dog named Panzer and 4 cats. In her free time she enjoys baking and will often bring in goodies for the staff members. She has also made dog treats that have been sold for the Have a Heart Fund. The NAAH team could not be happier to have Dr. Davis' passions among the team. Some of our older clients will remember her as Dr. Summers.

Andrea Tiede, LVT

Andrea came to the area in 1996. At the age of 16 Andrea began working at our hospital as a kennel assistant. She quickly mastered that position and began learning other skills. She enjoyed the work immensely, learned quickly, and was soon training as a veterinary assistant and a receptionist. She graduated from Hylton High School in 1999. Originally she wanted to become a vet but she realized that she liked the nursing and technical side of vet med the best. So right out of high school Andrea went to Northern Virginia Community College to become a licensed veterinary technician. Andrea completed the two-year program, including an internship at our other hospital at Gunston, in the summer of 2002. She received an Associate Degree in Applied Science and is now a full fledged veterinary technician at our hospital.

Andrea currently lives in the Woodbridge area with her husband Joshua and daughter Hannah along with 2 dogs and 2 cats- most of which are handicapped. They enjoy spending time together in Andrea's off time.

Andrea was profiled in our Fall 2002 newsletter.

Shonna Banholzer, LVT

Shonna Banholzer was born in Woodbridge, VA and has lived here most of her life. Growing up she knew that she wanted to be in the Veterinary field, animals have always been her passion. She began working at Dale City Animal Hospital (DCAH) in 1999 at the age of 16 as a Kennel Assistant. After three years she wanted more of a challenge and was promoted to Veterinary Assistant. As the years went on she decided that the veterinary field was her home and and she wanted to pursue a career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. At the age of 20, Shonna said goodbye to her friends at DCAH and moved to Pittsburgh, PA to enroll herself in the Technician program at the Median School of Allied Health Careers. She earned her Associates Degree in Specialized Technology in 2004. As soon as she graduated she moved back to Woodbridge and rejoined her friends at DCAH and Gunston Animal Hospital(GAH).

Shonna now lives with her boyfriend, Matt, and all their furry children, by furry children we of course mean her animals. Bear is a big black and white Newfoundland mix that she adopted from the hospital while she was working as a Kennel Assistant. She also adopted a brown and white male tabby named Emmitt from the hospital. Sassy the orange female tabby has been owned by Shonna since Shonna was eleven years old and is loved dearly. Shonna met Matt in 2003 while she was enrolled in the Technician program in Pittsburgh. Matt moved to Woodbridge with Shonna after she graduated.

Shonna has found her calling and could not be happier and we could not be happier to have her as part of our team. She works at both DCAH and GAH.
